Fonsoul (from Barcelona) - Forum Club (Saturday 14th April 2012)

Hello from Barcelona. When I was only 3 years old, playing with a radio I got an electric shock and my parents get scared. I think it was a Los Bravos' song while the incident. Maybe this accident causes that I've got a cramp on my hole back when I listen to good music.

I'm collecting records for my hole life. Regarding the last decade, my interests are focused on black music, from 50s to 70s.

I've been at the decks in some Spanish rallies and clubs as Euro Yeyé, Beat Goes On, Go Lleida!, Gran Guateque,s.m.a.r.t. club, Boosters Club...

Now-a-days, I organize one a month club in Barcelona with my friend Tof, Double Cookin', and some 100% instrumental sessions called Elemental Instrumental.

Not being in Madrid for a year (paternity), I'm very pleased for coming back. Time to see again friends and to dance some good music. My setlist will be around 50s-60s r&b,early soul and mod jazz.

Rock'n Roll - Rhythm & Blues and British motorcycles - For some it becomes a lifestyle, for others it is just the best time you are ever going to have with your clothes on!

I've been obsessed with music since late 70's. Been writing to rock'n roll magazines since 80's and also liner notes to albums, I've reissued some 50's R&R on my own label. You could describe me as a passionate vinyl collector who spins regularly original 45s at R&R clubs and weekenders in Finland and all over and liable to play anything from rocking 50’s R&B to60’s New Breed R&Braucous 50’s Rock'n RollTittyshakers, wet Surf instros and even some Popcorn. I have always wanted to share the music that makes me shiver and fills the dance floors. I have spent the last 25 years travelling across the Europe and USA in search of good music and great people!

I'm very delighted that you've chosen me to be the Dj @ Forum Club Madrid. I just love the Spanish club scene, I’ve been deejaying several times in Barcelona including The Boiler,Double Sider and other clubs at Barbara Ann & Las Guindas. You have always top deejays from all over Europe. Can’t wait to visit Spain again, such a great atmosphere and people!

Ian Grinham (from London, UK) - Forum Club (Saturday 14th April 2012)

Age, 40.
Started Collecting at 15.

What do I collect ?

Well, I am not a fan of labels but do understand and realise that these labels help to define styles. I collect 45s from 1954 – 67/68 from America to South Africa. The common ground these records h do seem to have a heavy Mod feel.

Started Djing in a small club at 15. Currently a resident DJ at The Chitlin' Circuit, Nottingham (that is run by a 22 year old, who just so happens to be the son of the chap that shown me how to dj 25 years ago), England. Also co organise Nottingham’s only Mod Weekender (Moddingham that takes place in July). Lives in London.

All Time Top Five Popcorn R&B type Nuggets

Filippo Liti (from Terni, Italy) - Forum Club (Saturday 14th January 2012)

In the mod scene for more than ten years, I was pleased to be as guest dj in great parties in italy (The Italian Job International Mod Rally-Rimini, Underground Blues Mod Weekend-Teramo, Vulcans Days-Rimini, Terracina Mod Weekender, The Right Track-Roma, Hot Mod Summer on The Lake-Lago Trasimeno Perugia, Hipsters Expo-Trieste) and Europe (Mousetrap and Boom Shaka Laka in London, Euro Yeye in Gijon), playing a selection of 50s and 60s R&B, early soul and latin/boogaloo, choosing from rarities to monsters, even obscure gems always keeping the floor "hot"!
As far as my interests, I collect original 45s of my favourite sounds, but I spend a lot of time in searching for vintage clothes too!
I definitely love Spanish parties, often ending when the sun is rising and always involving really nice and warm people...and I totally adore Spanish food and drinks!!!
I can't wait to be there in Madrid to bring my dj selections!''

Although fond of cooking, he prefers it raw when talking about music. Rhythm & Blues Preacher, he decided to move onto stage with his bag of 45s when giving up his radio days. Grown in Ricoamor and all the other dens in his hometown, now you will find him spinning the wax at clubs (The Boiler!, Rave On...) and festivals all over Spain (Screamin', Ubangi Stomp, Big Rumble, Barcelona Hayride...) and also international (Bang!Bang!Berlin, Hemsby...). He even ran his own club (Ego Negro) for a while. His record bag, filled with the wildest sounds of Rhythm & Blues, guarantees the Dance Floor Fiesta!''
